Over the course of the last month, Animal Science students in Mrs. Miller’s class have been getting hands-on experience at the school farm, learning how to care for and prepare cattle for insemination.
Students had the opportunity to see vaccinations up close and watched a palpation demonstration with Dr. Drake.
Last week, Justin Patrick assisted in artificially inseminating three of the FFA cows and gave them their final vaccinations.
If all goes well, the school farm will welcome its first calves in September 2026!
