Greetings Clinton Middle School students and parents. It is my pleasure to serve you as principal this year! This is my seventh year in Clinton and my third as your educational leader. Prior to becoming principal at CMS, I had many
educational experiences including 16 years of classroom teaching in middle school math, ELA, social studies, and third grade. I have also had seven years experience as an elementary administrator. With all these amazing experiences, I will always be a teacher at heart.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Middle School Math from Missouri State University, a Master’s in Education from Pittsburg State University, and an Educational Specialist in K-12 Administration from William Woods University.
My husband and I are blessed with three daughters, Lauren, Reagan, and Savannah, and two grandchildren, Tripp and Miller Faye. When we are not working we are spending all of our time with family. I live by the educational philosophy, “If it is not good enough for my children and grandchildren, it is not good enough for anyone’s child!” Just as with my children, I want to see my students excel and become productive members of society who have ample opportunity to become whatever they want to be when they grow up.
It is my privilege to lead Clinton Middle School and the many talented teachers and students here. My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture at CMS where we lead with grace and accountability so we are able to provide the highest levels of teaching and learning to all students. I look forward to partnering with you in your student’s education. When questions arise, please feel free to reach out to me at
[email protected] or call the office (660-885-3353).
Yours in teaching,
Mrs. Jill Chapman
Principal, Clinton Middle School
Welcome to Clinton Middle School!
My name is Mr. Kenney and I am the Assistant Principal at Clinton Middle School.
I received my Bachelors of Elementary Education from Central Missouri State University, (now UCM) and later received my Masters in Administration from
William Woods University. After college, I taught 4th grade in the Blue Springs School District for 4 years. My wife and I then decided to move back to our hometown of Clinton, MO where I taught kindergarten for four years at Henry Elementary, before moving into administration. I have spent the past 10 years as an assistant principal in the Clinton School District.
My wife Melana and I have 5 children, Leah, Lily, Ellis, Beckett and Otto. When I'm not at work spending time with our amazing Cardinals, I enjoy coaching my kids' sports teams and hanging out with the entire family.
I have a passion for kids and want to make a difference in all of their lives.
If you see me out in the community, stop and say hi. I'm happy to talk with any parent or community member whenever needed. If you need anything feel free to stop by, email me at
[email protected], or call me at 660-885-3353.
Sincerely,
Jake Kenney
