returning student registrationRETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION

We are so excited to help make the back to school process easier for our families this year by offering online registration for returning students. This online process will take the place of all of the paper forms parents typically complete at the beginning of the school year and will open on August 2nd. We ask that you complete the online forms ASAP. Class schedules and teacher class lists will not be be provided until registration is complete.

As we have shared throughout the summer, one parent for each of our returning students will receive an email on August 2nd with a special access code to complete all of the beginning of the year forms online. If you have multiple children in our district, you will receive a separate email and code for EACH child. If we do not have an email for parents, a letter will be mailed this week with instructions.

Who will complete RETURNING student online registration?

  • All students who were enrolled on the last day of school in May and will be attending the Clinton School District this year.
  • Students who took part in kindergarten screening last spring and completed initial paperwork.
  • Students who will be attending Clinton High School and attended school at Davis, Leesville, Shawnee R-3, CCA, Holy Rosary, or Calhoun, AND completed initial paperwork last spring.
  • Students from our sending schools who attended Clinton Technical School last year and are returning this year.
  • CECC STUDENTS WILL NOT BE TAKING PART IN THE ONLINE REGISTRATION SYSTEM THIS FALL.

POWERSCHOOL PARENT PORTAL
POWERSCHOOL PARENT PORTAL INFORMATION

One of the best ways for parents to stay informed on their child's progress in school is to create a PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

PowerSchool is a secure internet-based website that will allow you to easily keep track of nearly everything your student does while at school. This service will allow you to view your student’s attendance, grades, schedule, food service balance, progress, assignments, emergency information, and more. You can also download the PowerSchool app to your mobile device.

The district has created a short video to guide you through the process of creating a Parent Portal account. Please click the link below and follow the simple steps to create your account. If you should have any questions please contact your child's school office.

**Please note-The video above was created using the District's previous website. The instructions are still the same, but you will now find access to PowerSchool by clicking on the PowerSchool quick link button below the banner images on our website.**

The district uses a variety of methods to communicate with parents, one of which are our social media outlets.

During the school year we share pictures and videos from inside our classrooms, so you never know when your child might show up on our page! Our social media outlets are also a great way to stay informed about upcoming events, announcements and those winter snow days!

Make sure you like us on Facebook (Clinton Schools) and on Instagram (Clinton_Cardinals). You can also check out our social media directory  to follow classroom pages, sports pages, and more!

text messagesTEXT MESSAGING SYSTEM

It is always our goal to have the most up-to-date contact information for our families. One of the ways we will reach out to parents regarding important events, school closings, and safety alerts is via our text messaging service through School Messenger.

If you received text messages from our district last year AND your cell phone number has not changed, there is nothing further you need to do.

If you did not receive text messages from the district last year OR your cell number has changed, there are TWO very important steps you need to take.

1). Provide your child's school with the cell number where you wish to receive text messages.

2). After updating your cell phone number with the school office, follow the simple steps found here. You MUST opt-in to receive text messages from the district.

DISTRICT APPDISTRICT MOBILE APP

For parents, students and community members, the Clinton School District mobile app is designed to offer one place where you can access the most needed information in a mobile, on-the-go format. You can download the district app through the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Search for "Clinton School District".

The app provides calendar events, current news from your child's school and the district, access to school websites, sports/activities information, district notifications (including snow days), a staff directory with immediate connection to phone and email, access to PowerSchool for grades, attendance and meal balances, breakfast/lunch menus, ability to make online payments, AND MORE!

Some things to note:
*When downloading the app, select "Allow" to receive push notifications with the latest news and updates from the District.

*When adding the app to your phone, make sure you go through the "Start setup" procedures. Completing this step allows you to customize the app to receive information from the school(s) that your child(ren) attend.

*Whenever you open the app and receive the "New Content" prompt, be sure and choose "yes". This will ensure that you are always viewing the most up-to-date info.

DROP OFF PICK UP
STUDENT DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP INFORMATION

We know that drop-off and pick-up expectations can be confusing, especially if this will be your child's first year in a new building.

The maps at the links below were created to help alleviate any confusion and to ensure the safety of our Cardinals. We ask that parents refer to the maps to learn about entrances and exits at each building, where "bus only" lanes are located, and to let us know if you have any questions.

****Parents of Henry and CIS students, please be aware that due to safety concerns, there will be no pick-up in the parking lot between Henry and CIS. If your Henry Elementary child has a sibling walking over from another school they must enter on the northside of Henry Elementary and go to the south side of the building to be picked up as a car rider off of Bodine Street.****
